Art was last on their mind

A Bright DO: This was not one of those somber art evenings. It had fun breezy outdoors and mocktails in place. Oil and acrylic paintings by Niladri Paul were on display and saddi Dilli’s art lovers turned upon great numbers to appreciate the works and catch up with each other. The latter seemed to be the priority, though.

GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN! Witty Bawa (yeah, that’s the way her name goes, she said) was busy explaining the nuances of some of the works to Bharti Dubey. And in the process witty, very wittingly, asked a couple of guests to move away from the painting so that Bharti could have a better view. From this angle, the colours seem to be more vibrant and eye-catching she informed.

PLAYING HOST: Vijaylakshmi Dogra, dressed in a fiery orange overcoat, posed for photo-ops with Subroto Kundu and asked everyone coming in to help themselves. Niladri’s wife Nirupama, dressed in black, looked delighted and paid special attention to every guest.

PURANI JEANS AUR GUITAR: As the evening progressed the guests assembled at the lawn outside the gallery and shared jokes and refreshed memories. It was an art do where friends caught up with each other apart from appreciating art.
